It’s Independence time. Everywhere you go this week, you are showered with Red, White, and Blue. It’s a time to celebrate with family and friends, heat up the grill, watch some fireworks, say thank you to the troops, relax, and enjoy the holiday!

Best 4th of July Playlists
If you plan on being in the backyard most of the day with friends and family, hook up that sound system and get your playlist ready so you will have one less item to take care of and more time to relax and have fun (while listening to great music). There are the basics that should be included in every 4th of July playlist such as ‘Born in The USA’ and ‘Saturday in the Park’ by Chicago. Be sure to include a variety of great American classics from rock and roll to country and pop.

Grilling
With all of the latest trends in fancy grilling, there is nothing like grilling the basics of hot dogs and hamburgers on the 4th of July. A favorite desert de jour is, of course, S’mores!
You can’t go wrong with Martha (Stewart, not Washington). She has an easy and delicious recipe.

Fireworks
Wherever you are, in the city, the burbs, or out in the country there will be organized fireworks somewhere close by to go watch. If you are firing them off at home, please make sure that you review The National Council on Fireworks Safety guidelines and safety tips. Probably one of the largest yearly displays of fireworks is in NYC. Huffington Post has the lowdown on where to see the show from the best vantage points. Every city and town in America will be doing something special, small town celebrations can be big fun!
